Anna J. Matula-Evans has long standing roots in the Hudson Valley and is honored to serve the community she has called home for most of her life. Ms. Matula-Evans is committed to providing legal representation that resolves rather than exacerbates conflicts.  She possesses over twenty two years of experience and problem solving skills in all aspects of Family and Matrimonial Law, including separation and divorce; child custody, visitation and relocation; child support and spousal maintenance; property division; valuation of professional practices and businesses; pre and post marital agreements; adoptions; domestic violence issues and orders of protection. She is an experienced negotiator and trial lawyer and is also fully trained in Collaborative Law. Ms. Matula-Evans’ undergraduate degree in business and related work experience in the financial and accounting industries  affords her special expertise on matters of equitable distribution and the associated tax related consequences of dividing assets during a divorce proceeding.

Ms. Matula-Evans is an Arbitration Hearing Officer, presiding over Attorney Fee Disputes.  This role has provided invaluable experience in listening, understanding disputes from various points of view as well as conflict resolution. She brings these valuable tools to her private practice and utilizes them in reaching favorable resolutions for her clients.

Ms. Matula-Evans currently serves on the Attorney for Children Panel in Dutchess County (and previously in Ulster County for over a decade). She has received specific and intense training in all Family Law areas pertaining to children, including custody, visitation, adoption, support, juvenile delinquency, domestic violence and child psychological development.  She brings this specialized knowledge to each and every matter involving children.
